Dreaming of a Career in Education…

Minus the burnout!

My Teaching Story

Once upon a time, I decided that I wanted to be a teacher and so that is exactly what I did. I graduated college with my degree in primary school education, and I have not looked back since.

14 years later and I have worked as a classroom teacher for many age levels in the public school system, and most recently, a headteacher in a private international school.

In that time, I have come to realise that you never really feel like you know what you are doing. You are in a constant state of juggling twenty balls and at any given time at least 10 of them are crashing to the floor.

The truth is, teaching is very complex and it takes constant self – reflection and adjustment to ‘figure’ it out and get into a good rhythm.

With my blog, I hope to share a mixture of lessons, stories, reflections and reminders that you are not alone in feeling like you are ‘winging it’ in the classroom.

I am still in my journey of figuring it all out, and I hope that you can join me!
