About Me
Hi! I am Ruth – the face behind ‘Dreamlight Learning’.
Welcome to my small space on the internet.
Firstly, thank you so much for visiting my website. I still can’t believe that I managed to set it all up. If you experience any issues with the site, please let me know. I am a work in progress when it comes to anything tech related.
Anyway, I hope that you can stick around and join me on my ever-exhausting but always fulfilling journey through a career in education. Keep scrolling to learn some more about me and my life. It is VERY interesting and unique… hehe.

All About Me
1. Where am I from?
I was born and raised in Ireland. Currently, I am living in South Korea with my husband. We just got married – yay!
Teaching in Ireland is amazing, and I was so lucky to work in a great school with wonderful teachers, leadership and of course children and families. Really it was great. Teaching in Korea is tough, I am not going to lie. However, I have definitely grown as a teacher/person and I hope to share some of this with you in my blog section.
3. What is my favourite…?
Season: Autumn. To be fair, I like all seasons for different reasons… but I despise Korean summers.
Food: Potatoes. I know this is so stereotypical, but genuinely I am always in the mood for some form of potato.
Drink: Coke Zero and coffee. (If you ever visit Korea – get the deep caffe latte in OOZY. It… will….change…. your… life.
Movie: This question makes me anxious. Let’s go with ‘A Little Princess’ and ‘Titanic’.
Song: Too hard to pick one.. but I love the soundtrack to ‘Stranger Things’.
2. Did I always want to be a teacher?
Yes… and no. When I was younger, I used to pretend I was a teacher a lot – writing on whiteboards and correcting ‘copies’, which were actually just regular library books. Sorry Roald Dahl! However, I also really wanted to be a popstar and I did actually briefly become a member of an up and coming girl band… called ‘The Flower Girls’. We only made it as far as the playground at break time.. but still I count it.
4. What are some of my hobbies?
Hmm, I love going for a jog every morning if I can. I like reading books, even though I usually only read when I am on holidays. I love getting stuck into a good tv show – something like severance, where I can do a full reddit debrief after each episode. I listen to podcasts every chance I can. I’m obsessed with coffee and coffee shops. Korea has amazing cafes and it’s so much fun finding a new spot. I love sea swimming and going to water parks.
However…currently… my life is this blog haha.
